Human MMP Panel Service

Description

Matrix metalloproteinases (MMP) are a group of metal (calcium and zinc)-dependent proteolytic enzymes that degrade the extracellular matrix. MMPs are involved in the release of cell surface active molecules (e.g., apoptotic ligands, growth factors), cleavage of cell surface receptors, modification of chemokines/cytokines, etc. MMPs are secreted intracellularly as the zymogen pro-MMP and are activated by a series of protease cascades to become active MMPs with hydrolytic capacity. Different MMPs are substrate specific and can be subdivided into gelatinases, collagenases, stromelysins, mesolysins, etc.

MMP-3 is capable of degrading or shearing a variety of extracellular matrix components, precursor proteins or precursor enzymes, including Collagen α-chains, Aggrecan, Laminin, Fibronectin, Elastin, Casein, α-1 Antitrypsin, Myelin Basic Protein, IL-1 β, IGFBP-3, pro-MMP-1, pro-MMP-7, pro-MMP-8, pro-MMP-9, pro-MMP-13, etc. MMP plays a key role in tumor development and multiple diseases, and its ability to disrupt histological barriers to tumor cell invasion, release E-calciferol (E-cadherin), promote tumor invasion and metastasis, and promote inflammatory responses has gained increasing attention in the study of tumors and other diseases. In addition, MMP-3 is also involved in a series of physiological and pathological processes such as tissue morphogenesis, damage repair, and inflammatory response, and plays an important role in the development of rheumatoid arthritis, atherosclerosis, and other diseases.

Creative Proteomics offers the Luminex Human MMP 3-plex/5-plex/9-plex Panel for quantifying MMP in serum, plasma, tissue/cell lysates, and culture supernatants. We base on Luminex xMAP technology to achieve ideal speed and sensitivity for simultaneous quantification of multiple analytes, significantly increasing productivity and saving valuable sample volumes.
